Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for your continued support of Rushbrook Academy during the coronavirus outbreak. You will have seen in the news that every day there is more information about the spread of the virus, and we keep our plans under review to make sure we are putting safety first.
Whilst the infection continues to be transmitted, we need to take very small steps so that we can keep the school environment as safe as possible for the children and staff.
Therefore, unfortunately we have taken the decision to push back the opening of the school to Year 6 children until Monday 22nd June 2020 providing all is well.
We will however remain open as usual for the children of key workers and other eligible children. We will also continue to open to those families that have confirmed attendance in Reception and Year 1 from tomorrow.
Whilst we are disappointed that we will not be able to increase our provision for Year 6 on Monday 15th June, the children will continue with their education from home with the support of their teacher as has been the case up to this point.
Please continue to support your child with their remote learning, and we will be back in touch with further updates over the coming week. We will continue to liaise with Bright Futures Educational Trust, the Director of Public Health and Manchester Local Authority who are reviewing the situation weekly. The health and safety of our children is our priority.
We of course look forward to being altogether again as soon as it is safe to do so. We will keep you informed and send out further information regarding our Year 6 bubbles.
